Meet Your Trainer

Warm, real, and genuinely here for your dog.

I started Kindred K9 because dog training should feel like getting advice from a trusted friend, not a lecture from a stranger.

My Story

Dogs have always been my people.

I've been training dogs since I was a kid. Growing up in the Salt Lake Valley surrounded by dogs, I learned early that most behavior problems aren't about the dog at all. They're about communication. When dogs and their owners speak the same language, everything changes.

For eight years I did this on the side, helping friends, neighbors, and family build solid foundations with their dogs and bridge that communication gap between owner and dog. Watching a frustrated owner finally click with their dog never got old, so I launched Kindred K9 to bring that same personal, patient, relationship-first training to families in Davis County and the surrounding communities.

You'll probably hear about Reggie, my three-year-old Bernedoodle. He was the runt of his litter and struggled to thrive at first. These days he's the dog people stop to ask about, because he stays calm, focused, and listening even when the world gets loud. He's my daily reminder of what patient, consistent training can do.

I'm not a franchise. I'm not a facility. I'm your neighbor, someone who genuinely cares about your dog and wants to see you both thrive together.

Balanced methods

The right tool for each dog, because what matters most is results that last.

Owner education

I teach you, not just your dog, so results last long after we're done.

No cookie-cutter plans

Every session is designed around your specific dog and home environment.

Honest about timelines

Real results take time. I'll always give you a straight answer about expectations.

My Approach

Training rooted in trust, not fear.

The methods I use are built on decades of behavioral science and a simple belief: dogs want to work with us, not against us. Our job is to make that easy for them.

01

Read the whole dog

Behavior doesn't happen in a vacuum. I look at environment, history, and body language before I touch a training plan.

02

Train where life happens

The kitchen. The front door. The leash. Results that only work in a training facility aren't real results.

03

Keep you in the loop

I explain everything I'm doing and why. You stay in control long after our sessions end.
