Frequently asked questions

If something isn't covered here, just reach out — I'm happy to answer anything.

I primarily serve Davis County and surrounding communities. Reach out and we can figure out if travel is feasible for your area.
It genuinely depends on your dog and your goals. Basic obedience for a motivated dog might take 3–5 sessions. Behavioral work like reactivity or anxiety often takes 6–10. I'll give you an honest estimate after our first session — never a vague "it depends" without real guidance.
Possibly — it depends on the type and severity of the aggression. I handle many reactivity and mild aggression cases very successfully. If a case requires more specialist intervention (like a veterinary behaviorist), I'll be upfront about that and help you find the right resource. I'd rather be honest than waste your time and money.
Treats are my primary reinforcer, but "not food motivated" usually means one of two things: the treats aren't valuable enough, or the dog is too stressed to eat. We troubleshoot this together. I also use play, toys, and praise — every dog has something they care about.
That's actually ideal. Dogs learn from every person they interact with, so having the whole household on the same page makes a huge difference. I encourage family members to join sessions and I'll make sure everyone understands the approach.
I ask for 24-hour notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Life with dogs (and kids) is unpredictable — I get it. If something comes up last minute, just let me know as soon as you can and we'll work it out.
